Game Premise
Parsons, Massachusetts. Do you ever wonder how people are going to remember you? Well high school yearbooks are pretty much the set in stone way we remember our old friends, enemies, and lovers. They say that you can tell a lot about a person based on who they were in high school, so who were you? Were you the girl who just couldn’t catch a break? Or maybe the guy who just seemed to have the whole world handed to him on a plate? Have you changed since then?
Imagine being from a place like Parsons, a town so small that everyone knows each other. Your mother, father, siblings, everyone went to the same high school. Everyone knows Joey, the captain of the football team, and Jerry, the geeky kid who lives on Ketcham street who says he’s going to build a space ship. So what happens years later? Does the geeky kid get his space ship? Did Joey ever marry his high school sweetie? Are they still who they were way back when?
Hello there! From what we can tell, role playing has seemingly changed after the migration over to Insane Journal. The mods here at ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) parsonsma are just trying to find that love for RP that we have had for many years. No, we will not be going back to the days of one-liners and asterisks, however, we do intend to attempt to make RP fun again. Since this is a premade game, I have a feeling that most of you are thinking 'oh, great!‘Another premade community?' Well, as you can probably tell, there are many different types of premade communities out there. Whether they are secret premades or personality premades, most of them seem to be quite similar with their premise. After trying to find a different type of premade game, the idea of our game came to mind. This game is a bit different from most of the other premade games currently out there simply because the premades are based on who your character was in high school.
parsonsma is a premade game based in the fictional town of Parsons, Massachusetts. We pose the question: Who are you now? Yes, the premades are based on who you were then, but the real questions are: who are you now? Have you changed? Do you think you never really needed to? Are you happy? Parsons is a small town that is pretty close to Boston, MA, and most of the characters [if they grew up in Parsons] would have gone to the same high school. If you would like your character to have moved to the town after high school, that is fine too. The thought of the premise came to me one day while skimming through my high school yearbook. Along with thinking back on all of the memories, good and bad, I was thinking about all of the people that I remained friends with after graduation and those who I seemed to have severed the ties with over the years. I then started to think about the random chaos some of us used to cause and about the students we all knew would be successful. After comparing how my classmates were back then, to how they are now, I have noticed that some people have changed for the better, some have changed for the worse, and some have simply remained the same. The concept of this community is that your character will be a resident in the fictional town of Parsons, Massachusetts. Their premade statement will be based on what your character was like back in high school.After deciding on a premade it is completely up to you whether or not you would like your character to have changed since high school. That information will be included in either your survey or biography.

Random / Media » whatisup - Instead of having ten different communities, we decided to combine the media posts and random posts into one community. This is where you can post anything you would like, and we will consider it a part of your activity.
The Aim Logging/Threads Community » logsandthreads - This is where you can post either open or closed threads for other characters in the community in order to increase your interaction. If you feel comfortable posting your aim logs, you are welcome to do so as well.
The OOC Community » shutupandplay - This is where you can post anything out of character. If you don't feel comfortable posting in the OOC you can feel free to contact the Mods via PM or the dropbox.
The Storyline Community » bemyfriend - This is where you can go to develop lines with the members of the community. We know that natural interaction seems to be big these days but we figured that having this storyline community would be great to help establish how your characters interacted BACK THEN and then use it as a basis for a good line or two. It is not mandatory to post for CURRENT lines but we would like to see some PAST lines being discussed. It's up to you if the characters have the same interaction as they did back then. Wondering if the PB you had in mind would be wanted here for any kind of line? Simply join the community and post a post!
The Intro Community » hugme - This is the community that you will be required to post in within five days after being accepted into the community. If you do not post there, the Mods will assume that you are no longer interested in being a part of this community.

NEXT ADDS will be on Wednesday, July 30th. Both mods are currently unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, however, come Wednesday adds will be done. Feel free to hold faces, premades, etc and we will add you to the list! Thank you for understanding.
There is a cap on females for the time being until we can get a few more males in the mix. If you would like to hold a female PB, feel free. We will keep the hold up for you and add you once the cap is lifted. Thank you for your cooperation!

Don't forget to check out bemyfriend if you are interested in finding some storylines! We know that some people prefer natural interaction but we figured that the storyline community could be great for developing history for your characters [maybe how the characters got along back in high school] which could lead to some pretty decent interaction.
